Army organises moutain terrain cycle rally

Srinagar, 21 Oct 2017:  Army today at Bandipora organized a Mountain Terrain Cycle Rally from Manasbal to Srinagar on 21 Oct 2017 which comprised 24 young boys of Bandipora District.




In a statement issued to Kashmir Scenario, the Rally was flagged off by 5 Sector RR Commander and was flagged in at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar at 2 PM on the same day by his excellency Mr NN Vohra,Governor of J & K covering a total distance of 55 Km. The aim of the rally was to channelise the impressionable minds of Kashmir towards constructive engagement through adventure activities thus strengthening the bond between Army and AWAM.

As the members of the rally had to pedal their way past mountainous terrain, this experience will imbibe in these youngsters the qualities of team spirit, adventurous outlook and inculcate the traits of working together as a cohesive unit. The involvement of the Army in providing the adventure opportunity to the youth was amplified by the participation of Maj Gen AK Singh, Kilo Force Commander, himself as one of the participants. Army also provided 24 Mountain Terrain Bicycles, Track suit/Expedition wear and Mementos to the participants.




The locals made full use of this wonderful opportunity and established lasting bonds of friendship with Army and returned back successfully after having gained wealth of experience
