Srinagar, 04 Aug 2017. In an earnest effort and drive to connect with the Awaam, the Army organised a football match between village Badipura and village Budgam at Qasba Nagam with an aim to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship and constructively engage the youth of the area to work towards peace and tranquility in the area.
Badipura team comprising of Army personnel had a neck to neck contest with Budgam team resulting in a draw, 2-2 each. A large number of spectators gathered to cheer the teams and the game culminated with gifting of a football and two goal posts followed by interaction over a cup of tea.
The local youths are looking forward to a football tournament to be organised on the same lines.
