Srinagar, Dec 16 (KNB): From Internet to real world the Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s statement where he termed holy Quran a “beautifully portrayed” message of peace and harmony book has stroked a chord.
The message of peace and harmony is “beautifully portrayed” in the holy Quran and people often do not understand its essence, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat earlier this week told a group of students from Jammu and Kashmir recently and added it does not propagate violence.
Interacting with the group of madrassa students at his office in New Delhi, General Rawat also asked them to pick up sports like cricket and football and work towards containing violence so that Kashmir valley flourishes again.
“How many of you have read the holy Quran?” General Rawat asked the 25-member group which was in New Delhi as part of a national integration tour being conducted by the army.

The statement also received positive appreciation on the noted social media platform facebook where Farookh Ali wrote on group India Liberals – “I will tell you what is the message in it. It is the message of peace and harmony (‘Aman ka paigam hai’). And, it has been beautifully portrayed in it. And, all this noise made by the IS, it is nowhere mentioned in Quran (‘Ye jo IS ka halla hai na, yeh Quran mey kahin nahin hai’) ,” he said.
Ghulam Rasool, a religious scholar stated “Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat stating that The message of peace and harmony is “beautifully portrayed” in the holy Quran and people often do not understand its essence is a wonderful statement that deserves much appreciation from all quarters whatever ideology or thought we hold or believe in .We as humans should try to build bridges and create a better environment for our coming generations.” (KNB)
