Shekhar Suman (born 7 December 1962) is a prominent  Indian film actor, Anchor,producer,director, singer .

In an exclusive interview with The Kashmir Scenario, versatile personality of Shekhar Suman talks to Senior Managing Editor Malik Sameed .

What were your recent memories of Kashmir Visit ?

The recent memories when I traveled to Kashmir evoked in me the memories of my childhood days when I visited Kashmir with patents. I went to everywhere almost from Pahalgam to Gulmarg and refreshed in me the ever lively beauty of Kashmir.




How did you find people of Kashmir?

The people of Kashmir despite facing tough times are ever charming amd extremely hospitable to outsiders. The hospitality of people of Kashmir is excellent.

Has Bollywood failed to depict the realities of Kashmir?

The competitive cinema is always after pomp and glamour, but yes I do feel considering the difficult problems faced by the Kashmir valley one fees bolywood should take steps in this regard.

Are you surprised there are no theatres in Kashmir?

A society which wants to be alive art and culture vise should focus on building cinema culture and the people of Kashmir should work to lend a lease of life to the Cinema Culture.

Who are your role models?

My role models are Amitabh Bachan and Dileep Kumar as both of them are iconic figure and are highly disciplined, professional legends and inspire lot.

A bit about your journey and current projects ?

My journey started from Movie Utsaav in 1985 and then I have had a long illustrious career in TV world with performing lead role in scores of serials. I love cinema most. Currently I am doing few more serials and a comeback movie with Sanjay Dutt and there are many projects in offing.


Are  you and others concerned especially by the innocent killings and blinding by the govt forces in Kashmir?

We are deeply pained by the pellet blindings and innocent killings should not take place. There is no scope for human rights violations despite the Government stating sometimes that force is needed.

Do you believe that content shown in current comedy shows is not worth watching with family?

It is actually the audience feedback, interests that shape the content, however I maintain TV should be more responsible in airing content as it is a family platform .

What is your message to people of Kashmir?

My message to people of Kashmir is have a constructive mindset and never get used in any internal and external conspiracies as India is your country as much it is mine.
