Kulgam 05 Dec (KNB): Thousands of people on Tuesday participated in the funeral prayers of slain militant Yawer Bashir who was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Bounigann village of Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Yawar, a resident of Hablish village located nine kilometres from district Kulgam, had joined the militant ranks before some months.
Scores of men and women wept bitterly as the body was being carried towards its final resting place
Eyewitnesses said that around ten thousand people attended his funeral prayers at Hablish
He was laid to rest at a graveyard in his native village amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, they said.
