Altaf Bukhari holds video conference with Union HRD Minister

Says process of training untrained teachers on

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16: Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar today held video conference with education ministers of different states in which Minister for Education; Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also participated.

The objective of the conference was to discuss the issues related to learning outcomes, teachers training and issues pertaining to BEd and DEd colleges.
Speaking on the occasion, HRD Minister directed the education departments to focus on training of untrained teachers for the next two years. He said, it is important for all untrained teachers to join the training program and those who did not enroll for the training program will lose their job by March 2019.

The under graduate and graduate teachers have to register themselves on the web portal of National Institute of Open Schooling (www.nios.ac.in) where they can get the course learning free of cost. The study material will be available on the web portal. However they need to pay Rs 6,000 as exam fee which will be held in June 2018 and the final exam in March-April 2019.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS) was established in November, 1989 as an autonomous organization in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The HRD Minister also laid emphasis on the Learning outcomes, cleanliness drive in schools, painting competition and other activities during the video conferencing. He further said that National Assessment Survey will be celebrated on November 13.
On the occasion, Altaf Bukhari appraised the HRD Minister about the status of registration process of untrained teachers in Jammu and Kashmir. He informed that the process of registrations has already begun.

Later, Altaf Bukhari directed the Secretary School Education to issue a circular in this regard and asked him to direct all the untrained teachers if any to get themselves registered with the NIOS web portal.

Bukhari asked the officials to adhere to the policies on education in letter and spirit and to make the training of untrained teachers a huge success.

Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmed Shah, Director School Education (Kashmir), Director SSA, Director RMSA, Additional Secretary School Education and other concerned officials from education department were present during the conference.
