Srinagar, June 13(KNB): Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi on Saturday has been tested positive For Covid-19, becoming the third cricketer from the country to have contracted the virus.
Afridi in a tweet revealed, “I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah

Earlier, former Pakistan first-class cricketer Zafar Sarfaraz became the first professional cricketer to succumb to COVID-19 in Pakistan while as Taufeeq Umar, the Pakistan opener of the mid-2000s, also tested positive for Covid-19, becoming the second cricketer from the country to have contracted the virus.
With Shahid testing positive for the virus, the over all tally of cricketers in Pakistan tested positive for the virus rose to three while the overall tally of Covid-19 positive cricketers rose to five.
The two other cricketers to have been affected due to COVID-19 are Scotland’s Majid Haq and South African Solo Nqweni, Majid Haq ended up recovering successfully in March.(KNB)
