After MHA permits reopening of non essential shops, Pulwama Admin seals Agri Shop in Pampore

 

Received complaints against him regarding the violation of the Section 144: Tehsildar Pampore

Srinagar, April 30(KNB): Agriculture shop owner dealing with fertilizers in Nambal Pampore of district Pulwama alleged Tehsildar of seizing his shop in an extreme way.

Nazir Ahmad Mir, owning a fertilizer shop at Pampore allegedly said that despite having requisite permission to open shop from the agriculture department, still the police officials on the orders of Tehsildar seized my shop citing the excuse of violating section 144 by keeping the shop open throughout the day.

According to Shopkeeper, Pampore has a huge farming community and since fertilizer forms key component of the same,they are thus crucially dependent on such shops,it’s really baffing on the part of the police officials that despite having permission to keep the shops open, they seize the shops that too in absence of the shopkeepers.

Pertinently Union Home ministry issued an advisory which read as,
“all shops, including neighbourhood shops and standalone shops, shops in residential complexes, within the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities, registered under the Shops and Establishment Act of the respective State and UT” will be allowed to open during the lockdown.

However, despite Jammu and Kashmir being an Union territory the authorities are sealing agriculture shops.

While talking to Kashmir News Bureau on phone, the concerned Tehsildar said, “We received a lot of complaints regarding the violation of the Section 144 in the area from few days and the concerned shopkeeper only has the permission to keep his shop open for a couple of hours in the morning and not for the entire day,”

“We have shooted the video and have also collected the photographs of violation of the sections and the departmental guidelines,the shopkeeper has also played a deaf ear to our warning and therefore we had to seal his shop”.he further added.(KNB)
