Actions of CM expose her image of soft separatism: Omar

‘Govt run by proxy by CM’s relations’

Jammu, Jan 28: National Conference working president and MLA Beerwah Omar Abdullah here on Saturday slammed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for what he called Government’s failure in implementing the Agenda of Alliance (AoA), defending the State constitution in courts hearing J&K related constitutional matters, enforcement of work and conduct in offices and handling of some sensitive issues.

Complementing Chief Minister for proving the feelings about her being a soft separatist wrong, saying that “largest number of militants were killed in 2016” Omar questioned that if Mehbooba Mufti believed that Burhan was an ordinary militant then why the paramilitaries who killed Burhan were awarded by the Central Government controlled and commanded by BJP the ally of PDP. He also questioned that if BJP burnt his effigies during his Chief Ministerial tenure in the aftermath of Samba attack then why the right wing party is silent on Pathankote, Nagrota and Uri attacks. He asked the Chief Minister to explain that if during the reign of NC-Congress coalition wanted judicial probe into the death of a single person Haji Yousuf then why she is denying to same judicial probe to investigate the killing of about hundred civilians.

He wanted to know that if Mehbooba did not show faith in police investigation in the case of the mysterious death of a single person then how the people can show faith in police investigation of about hundred civilian deaths.

Saying that today Police stations and Army installations are attacked but BJP men don’t burn effigies of those running the affairs of the government right now, Omar said has the Chief Minister discussed the issue of restraint in killing local militants during cordons and search operations anywhere in the State and sought clarifications on Chief Ministers remark over the restraint required in operation against Burhan and his associates.

Alleging that bureaucracy has been divided along parallel lines as rumors are abuzz about the transfer of the Chief Secretary only to generate the feelings of a fighting between the locals and the non local officers.

He questioned that how can the government be run smoothly when even Chief Secretary of the State is feeling insecure.

Alleging that the government is virtually run by two close relations of Chief Minister Sartaj Madni and Sajad Mufti, the National Conference working president and former chief minister said that twenty one thousand premature transfers have been ordered in just two years of PDP-BJP coalition rule. He said that shamelessly government has transferred ten BDOs during five months of unrest in Sopore Constituency.

Asking the government to pursue the cases concerning constitutional status of the State, Omar Abdullah asked the government to engage some constitutional experts to contest the case related to property rights act which has a serious bearing on the stability of article 370.

Alleging discrimination in the allotment of funds to constituencies, he regretted that a particular constituency was allotted thirty crores during unrest period while most of the constituencies in Central and North Kashmir Districts were denied allotments under the garb of continuing turmoil in Valley.

Speaking on the motion of grants, Omar said third party monitoring is no where visible in the implementation of works and Public Service Guarantee act is not implemented anywhere in the State.

Reminding BJP of its commitment to work on its slogan Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan, Omar said both the Jawans and the farmers are committing suicides today due to demonetization enforced by the Modi Government in the Country.

Hitting out at the government for allowing the corruption to breed ground in the State, Omar said information commission has been rendered defunct as government is not taken steps to revive the commission and the working of the State vigilance Commission too has been badly hit in the absence of a functional information commission.
