Jammu, April 21st, 2015:-The Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee J&K today reviewed the functioning of different media units of I&B Ministry in the state. The meeting was held at Radio Kashmir Jammu under the Chairmanship of Shri Obaidur Rahman who impressed upon the media units to focus on centrally sponsored schemes especially pertaining to the welfare of farmers, youth and women.
Addressing the participants the Chairman laid emphasis on forging greater coordination among all the media units of I&B Ministry to achieve better results on expanding the sphere and level of public awareness. In this connection, he specially identified various Central Government programs and schemes like PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, UIDAI Aadhaar Number and recently launched Mission Indradhanush under NRHM.
Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu Mr. V.K. Sambyal informed the Chair that he has prepared a Calendar of Events for the year 2015-16 featuring important publicity programs and cultural events to be undertaken by the station during the period.
Programme Head, Doordarshan Kendra Jammu Ms. Anjali Sharma apprised the meeting about the activities undertaken by DDK Jammu highlighting the extensive coverage given to the State Legislative Assembly proceedings.
Deputy Director, State Information and Public Relations Department, Ms. Afshan Masood said that their department in coordination with district administration has been generating awareness on all central and state Government schemes. Assistant Director, RNU, DDK Jammu, Mr. Sanjith Khajuria informed the participants about their special programmes focusing on the losses to farmers due to inclement weather. He further said that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was also given due coverage in addition to the telecast of State Legislative Assembly proceedings.
