Srinagar, April 29 (KNB): With sixteen more people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in Kashmir on Wednesday, the total number of positive cases rose to 581 in the union territory.
As per the officials, among the 16 new positive cases ten cases were confirmed at the COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Disease hospital while six other were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS Soura.
Of the confirmed cases, 9 are from Anantnag, 4 from Budgam, 1 from Srinagar, 1 from Baramulla and 1 from Kulgam.
As many as 730 samples were tested at SKIMS lab today out of which 6 returned positive, four from budgam and one each from baramulla and kulgam.
As of now, a total of 581 cases are in the union territory Jaamu and Kashmir, 523 in Kashmir and 58 cases in Jammu with 8 deaths and 176 recoveries so far.(KNB)
