Tell us a bit about yourself especially childhood days?
I was born in Mumbai, but spent most of my schooling years in a boarding school (Scindia School) and graduated in biotechnology from Indore. Well as a child, I was very hyperactive! Before I could focus on one thing, something else would catch my fancy and I would be off exploring it till the next distraction came along. But, for all that, I was without doubt a very shy kid. Today I find myself in a different light all together. I have new-found confidence; I have learned to look after myself… in a nutshell I have opened up to the world.
What inspired you to enter into the world of modeling?
After graduation, I worked in a multiplex and handled guest relations. It was my first job right after finishing studies at college, that’s where Miss India organizers spotted me asked me to participate in the pageant. I did not at first thought that I was cut out for it so took it up as a grooming experience which instead changed my life overnight. Literally within no time I moved from being a girl next door to someone a lot of girls look up to.
How did transition into Bollywood happen?
I modeled for about 2 years after that I had no intentions of getting into the Bollywood. I just wanted to follow an unconventional path and in this regard unlike every other Miss India. I got offers before, but nothing caught my fancy. When “Jo Hum Chahein” happened, Bollywood bug had just bitten me and moreover this project had all the ingredients I would look for in my debut film. I am a hardcore romantic, what more could I ask for it’s a natural progression after modeling. I loved the whole experience. It has been the best time of my life so far and a very wonderful experience.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are sketching and reading.
What are your future projects?
I am looking forward to put my talent to test. I love acting, being an actor you can live so many lives that one cannot imagine. People in the industry have liked my work in “Jo Hum Chahein” and have shown positive interest. I am currently working for a Punjabi movie called “Best of Luck.” In the said movie I am starring opposite Punjabi superstars’ Jazzy b and Gippy Grewal.
What would be your message to fans?
I would like to say to all my fans that I thank you for your everlasting support. Your kind words of appreciation make my day. I love you all from the core of heart.
