30,000 fruit plants shall be distributed among farmers of Shopian district during the current financial year

District Development Commissioner Shopian today convened a meeting of different departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil Conservation and Forest
Department to review the achievements and targets fixed for the current financial year.
District Development Commissioner urged upon all the district officers to accelerate the pace of work so that the schemes undertaken shall be completed within the stipulated time for the benefit of people.

The meeting was informed that two water harvesting tanks being constructed by Department of Agriculture shall be completed by the end of this month. He directed the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to provide kits and tillers (Tractors) spray motors and other farm machinery equipment’s on subsidized rates to the farmers.
It was decided that Horticulture Department shall distribute 30,000 fruit trees to the farmers for giving fillip to the horticulture sector in the district.

The District Development Commissioner directed the concerned department to organize Melas and awareness camps at various places to educate the people about the different programs like, ATMA, RKVY&Technology Mission.
Among others, district officers of Forest Department, Soil Conservation, Agriculture and Horticulture Department were present in the meeting.
