27 fresh covid 19 cases in Kashmir, Takes tally to 523

Srinagar, April 24(KNB) : With Twenty-seven more people testing  positive for the novel coronavirus, the number of the covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 523 on Sunday. 

According to reports, of the fresh positive cases 9 patients are from Anantnag, 8 cases are from Bandipora, 7 from Baramulla, 2 from Srinagar and one case from Kupwara.

“Total cases now 523. But dont let this number daunt you.This includes 137 recoveries too. Total Active positive cases are 380. We will keep doing aggressive testing and strict containment. And you have to support by,” tweets J&K Spokesperson Rohit Kansal

“3 patients from Ganderbal have recovered from the deadly covid 19 and will be discharged tomorrow,” said DC Ganderbal 

“Plzd to inform my Ganderbalians that rzlts of 13 samples sent on 25th April 2020 hv bn received today,All are NEGATIVE which includes 3 earlier +ve cases from Guzhama who have recovered and will b discharged tomrow from COVID Hspitl Gbl,” tweets DC Ganderbal. ‘

According to sources, a pharmacist from Anantnag district tested positive early in the morning, while in Shopian, out of 94 samples tested today, reports of all samples came negative.

Earlier, with the death of a 72-year-old elderly man, resident of Qazipora Tangmarg, death toll across valley touched six on Saturday, Among 06 deaths, 05 are from Kashmir division and 01 from Jammu division.

Out of the total 523 cases, around 464 were reported from Kashmir and 57 from Jammu division with 109 recovered cases and six deaths so far.(KNB)
