117 fresh postive cases, three deaths in J&K, Tally jumps to 2718

Srinagar, May 22 (KNB): The number  of total positive cases of novel Coronavirus rose to 2718 after 117 more tested positive for the virus in Jammu  and Kashmir on Tuesday including a leading pulmonologist, a meat shop owner and nine pregnant women.

As per the reports, among the 117 fresh Covid 19 positive cases 77 were reported from Kashmir and 40 from Jammu division including 11 are from Kulgam, 15 from Srinagar, 10 from Kupwara, 07 from Baramulla,
07 from Shopian, 05 from Bandipora,
08 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama,
13 from Jammu, 09 from Ramban
02 from Kathua, 02 from Udhampur
01 from Samba, 09 from Poonch
03 from Rajouri and one 01 from Doda.

According to SKIMS officials, out of the 860 samples processed at the viral diagnostic lab today, 22 returned positive for the virus including 14 from Srinagar, three from Shopian, two from Baramulla—22-year-old woman from Sedo Sopore and 21-year-old from Kahitangan— while one each is from Pulwama (22-year-old man from Hatwara), Kupwara (12-year-old from Manigah) and Budgam (75-year-old woman from Beeru).

Moreover, 44 cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories at CD hospital, 19 at army’s command hospital, and six at SKIMS hospital Bemina.

The positive cases include a leading pulmonologist Dr Naveed who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Tuesday morning, a meat shop owner at Bandipora and nine pregnant women.

As of now, a total of 2718 cases are confirmed in Jammu and Kashmir with 1732 are active 503 in Jammu and 1229 in Valley, while 953 have recovered and include seven who were discharged today while 33 others have died so far.(KNB)
