Young KAS Officer leads fight to arrest spreading of Covid19 in Bandipora

Bandipora March 29(KNB): Mehraj Wani, a young KAS officer is one of the unsung heroes of district administration Bandipora who is battling all odds to contain the spread of Covid19 in the district.

Wani told Kashmir News Bureau( KNB) the challenge to arrest the trend of spreading Covid 19 in the district after medical tests of four persons from Sumbal area came postive.

He added in case it takes pandemic turn in J&K , it would almost impossible to stop the trend.

“Even countries with best of facilities are failing . we do not have the means to face it .Sso we have to follow strict measures that could not only save ourselves but ccan save as many lives as possible.”

Taking about the initiatives Wani and team initiated, he said, ” We started home delivery of essential including more then 4500 gas cylenders, 2800 quintals of advance rice of april disbursed. We roped in online delivery start up Kash Tel wherein people can online order and items will be home delivered by administration and also started dedicated website www.findcovidbandipora.in so that people can self report and we will provide free pick and drop facility for screening.”

Wani while appealingl volunteers from district Bandipora to join the fight, he said ,” more than 400 volunteers , paramedics have been registered, they will be called by control room shortly after screening on their numbers.

Pertinently, 184 persons in administrative quarantine and people in home quarantine are been medically checked twice a day in the district.

He further said that the people are highly cooperative and following the strict lockdown while the imams have also appealed people to offer prayers at home.
