Ganderbal 22 March (KNB): World Water Day was today organized by Jal Shakti Department sub division Ganderbal to create awareness at grassroot level regarding the importance of water.
Under the supervision of Executive Engineer Iqbal Bazaz, The world water day witnessed a massive campaign on water conservation across the district with the involvement of Jal Shakti officials headed by AEE Nazia Mufti along with Junior engineers and staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Deliberating on the theme of this year’s World Water Day, “Groundwater, making the invisible visible” Nazia Mufti made the people aware about the importance of ground water and the need to save the precious gift of nature and by using it judiciously but without wasting even a single drop of water, adding “how climate is affecting water.”
She further said that it is the responsibility of all to save and preserve the water in letter and spirit as it is essential for our life.
She said that several initiatives are being taken to provide potable drinking water to every household and made a reference of centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide the potable drinking water to every rural household.(KNB)
