With 18 New Covid-19 cases, Bandipora district worst hit in J&K

Srinagar 20 April (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded 18 fresh COVID-19 cases with the tally going up to 372 while five persons died and around 53 had recovered so far.

According to Kashmir News Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Rohit Kansal said, 14 positive cases for covid 19 have been reported from Kashmir Valley.

“14 new cases reported. All from Kashmir. Total number of cases now 368. Jammu-55 and Kashmir-313,” Rohit Kansal tweeted.

According to reports, 07 Positive are reported from Bandipora, 05 from Anantnag and 02 from Kupwara district

According to a media bulletin issued to KNB, “18 new positive cases have been reported from Kashmir division.”. 15 more covid patients have recovered and discharged, 07 from GMC Baramulla, 06 from SKIMS soura, 02 from Chest hospital Srinagar.

However, in addition to the surging cases, another worrisome factor is that the disease has spread to almost all districts of Kashmir valley with the highest number 91 in Bandipora, followed by Srinagar district with 79.

Pertainely, alarmed by the spike particularly in the Gund Jehangir village of Bandipora, the administration declared the village as “RED ZONE”

Of the total, as many as 92 cases were detected in Bandipora district alone, making it one of the COVID-19 hotspot village in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNB)
