The windstorm caused massive damage to orchards, residential houses and vehicles in dozens of villages in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Locals told Kashmir Scenario that dozens of rooftops were destroyed by the windstorm while as the vehicles were also damaged.
The windstorm caused intense damage to the orchards filled with apples and uprooted hundreds of trees, the locals said. The windstorm created fear and panic among residents and confined them to their houses. The power supply was also hit due to the windstorm. Apart from windstorm, the thunders and lightening also instilled fear among locals.
Some electric polls were damaged in Watpora village of bandipora after several trees fell on them due to strong winds,locals said.
Electric supply to this area was also disrupted.
