Tahir Syeed, Bari Andrabi, Syed Mohammad Hussaain, Deen Mohammad Cheetah joins PDP

Srinagar,28 March: Prominent young  journalist, MrTahir Syeed; former deputy director prosecution, Mr Bari Andrabi; young political activist, Mr Syed M Hussain and veteran Gujjar leader, MrDeen Mohammad Cheetah Friday joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The party president, Ms Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the new entrants into the party fold, in presence of senior party leader, Mr MuzzafarHussainBaig, at her official Gupkar residence. The senior PDP leader, Mr Abdul Haq Khan, MLA Lolab and youth wing in charge, Mr Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra were also present on the occasion.

Mr TahirSyeed is a Kashmir based journalist, who has been associated with the media from the last eight
years. A thorough professional, Mr Tahir has covered the different aspects of the Kashmiri society over
these years. Having strong political background, MrTahir is the grandson of late Moulana Anwar Masoodi (younger brother of Moulana Mohammad Syeed Masoodi, founder general secretary of National Conference and close associate of late Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah). Moulana Anwar Masoodi was the member Jammu and Kashmir constituent assembly 1951 and the member of legislative council.
Mr Tahir is also nephew of Pir Abdul Rashid, a senior politician from Kupwara district of North Kashmir
Mr Bari Andarbi, 49, from Pucchal area in Pulwama district, has some time back voluntarily retired from the government job as deputy director Prosecution.A law graduate from Kashmir University, Mr Bari during his outstanding stint in the government has served in different capacities in the state.Mr Bari also holds Diploma in Business Administration. Mr Syed MohammadHussain is the grandson of Mr Aga Syed Mustafa of Budgam. A businessman and a social worker, Mr Syed Mohammad Hussain has been also active in the politics. Mr Deen Mohammad Cheetah, a prominent Gujjar leader has been active in the state politics from decades now. He was provincial organizer of the NC. Speaking on the occasion the new entrants said it is the performance of the PDP both in the government and in opposition and the credibility of the party leadership that motivated them to join the party. They said PDP not only changed the political discourse in the state but helped to bring about a new change in the overall situation on the ground.
