Srinagar 22 March: In a first of its kind surgery, an 11-year-old girl was operated in the department of Cardio Vascular and Thoracic Surgery SKIMS by a team of doctors headed by Prof Abdul Majeed Dar, PRO SKIMS in a statement said.

Zubair Ashraf, Dr Nadeem Nazir, Dr Haroon Naqshi (CVTS), Prof.Qayoom Lone and Dr Shafat and Dr Umar (Cardiac Anaesthesia). “The supportive staff included perfusionist Lateef Ahmad and Firdouse Ahmad. This team has earlier also operated other complex cardiac cases like AP window DORV, TOF, DCRV and ICTAPVC,” said the PRO.
Prof Ab Majeed said that all this has been possible due to continuous patronage of Director SKIMS Prof Dr A.G Ahangar who himself happened to be HOD CVTS earlier in SKIMS and a cardiac surgeon of high repute.
