Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday lavished praise on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, but refrained from calling him the best prime ministerial candidate. The actor, who was seen flying kites with the BJP’s PM candidate at a kite festival in Ahmedabad, played with words when asked about Modi as a future prime minister.
“I feel that the best man for the country for all of us God will decide. He should be the best man for India. And the best man for our country should be the PM of this country,” Salman said in reply to the reporters’ questions. “See the good man is standing before me.
I have come here after four years, have seen so much development. You tell me, I don’t belong to Gujarat. It doesn’t matter what I perceive. You will have to decide. I live in Mumbai. I have come here to my film… I got to meet Mr Modi I really feel nice,” Salman said. Referring to people, the actor said, “You are the best man… I believe Modi sahib should get whatever is in his fate and he will certainly achieve it.” “As far as voting is concerned, polling is held in all constituencies. You vote for the person who is the best. Who is the best man for you here, Modi sahib. In my area it’s my responsibility to vote for the best candidate.
In my area there are Baba Siddique (MLA from Bandra West constituency) and Priya Dutt (Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North West). You have to vote for Modi sahib, I have to vote for my people,” he said. Salman, who was in Gujarat to promote his upcoming film Jai Ho, admitted that his father Salim Khan was a big fan of Modi. Earlier, Modi tweeted his picture with Salman saying he was having lunch with the actor on the occasion of Uttarayan.
