‘It will be a best way to pay him tribute’
Srinagar, 14 June : Chairman of Kashmir Society, Khwaja Farooq Renzushah Tuesday visited the residence of G. M. Guru, who gave his life while rescuing the tourist in river Jhelum.
In a statement issued to KNS, Renzushah said that the best way of projecting to world the element of sacrifice of Guru, who gave his life while rescuing the tourist in river Jhelum near shrine of shah-i-Hamdan and Hazrat BulbulShah Shrines, is to rename Nehru Park as Guru Park.
He appealed to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to utilize his powers by inscribing the change of name of Nehru Park to Guru Park in the Revenue Records, so that people of world realize that Kashmiri people know how to sacrifice their life by saving the tourists.
Renzushah said that even Chief Minister of J&K State Mehbooba Mufti has acknowledged this extreme element of sacrifice, his suggestions of renaming Nehru Park, as Guru Park was supported by the president of chambers and Commerce Mushtaq Wani, the President of Economic Alliance Muhammad Yaseen, the President of J&K Press Association Ghulam Hassan Kaloo, President of Ejac Abdul Qayoom Wani, President of private college Association C.L Vishin, President Pvt. College Association, Muhammad Ashraf Mir of Chambers and Commerce, Manzoor Ahmed Pampori president Urban Local bodies Union and Vice President Ejac, Ghulam Muhammad Liagaroo Chairman Traders coordinator Committee and General Secretary Kashmir Traders Federation. While interacting with the bereaved family, Renzushah Said that by giving preference in projection of G.H. Guru name instead of Nehru park name, will convey the best and sacrificing image of Kashmiri people to the entire world, as the negative impression has been created throughout world by hostile Media about people of Kashmir and now today’s sacrifice of Guru is eye opener for adversaries.
