Condemns house detention of Peer Saifullah, shifting of Hakeem Rashid to central jail

Srinagar, June 11 :Strongly condemning the house detention of personal secretary to Chairman Peer Saifullah, shifting of Hakeem Abdul Rasheed to Central Jail Srinagar and the police raids on the residence of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Bhat Sopore, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that the Mehbooba Mufti government has formally started a war against the pro-freedom people and she had broken all the previous records in this regard.




He said that Hurriyat leaders Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi and Mohammad Yaseen Attaai continue to remain in police custody and many other leaders are being searched and raided.

According to the statement issued to KNS, the police have placed a police vehicle on the main gate of the Peer Saifullah’s residence and he is not being allowed to come out of his house. Even he was not allowed to get milk and bread for his family from the market. Geelani sahab said that it is the worst kind of state terrorism which should be condemned at every level. Hakeem Abdul Rasheed who was detained in Lalbazar police station for last few days was today shifted to Srinagar central jail.

Hurriyat (G) chairman has also taken serious notice of the continuous police raids on the residence of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Bhat Sopore and said that the police is subjecting the said leader to the political vengeance since a long time and he is being detained every now and then.
He has been booked four times under the lawless law PSA during the last less than two years period and he is being harassed in every possible ways. Geelani sahab said that the Abdul Gani Bhat is a responsible leader of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and all his activities are of political nature. He is also a religious personality who often delivers Friday sermons in the Masjids.




Syed Ali Geelani cautioned the Sopore police that immediately stop the harassment of Bhat Sahab. Hurriyat chairman said that the state of Jammu & Kashmir has been practically converted into a police state and the law and order has been put on suspension here. Police and other forces personals have been given a free hand and there is no system in place to check their hooliganism.
Syed Ali Geelani appealed the human rights organizations to take serious notice of the grave human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir and use their influence to end the ban over the political activities in the state. (KNS)
