Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York apartment, a law enforcement official said Sunday.
The official, who declined to be named, told AFP the cause of death was under investigation. Police responded to the scene in Manhattan’s West Village after receiving a call at about 11:15 am (1615 GMT), the official said.
The actor will be remembered for his exemplary body of work that includes films like Scent of a Woman, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Almost Famous, 25th Hour, Punch-Drunk Love, Cold Mountain and the recent movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
