Police has today morning arrested General Council member of Hurriyat (M) and National Front Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan from his residence.
A National Front spokesman told Media that a large contingent of police raided the house of Nayeem Ahmad Khan early Friday and arrested him.
Confirming the arrest of Nayeem Khan, police spokesman told that he was wanted in an older case so he was arrested and he is going to be produced before the court.
Pertinently, the Government had recently accorded sanction to prosecute senior Hurriyat(M) leader Nayeem Ahmed Khan under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. He was wanted in a two year old case pertaining to raising ‘provocative’ slogans at Karan Nagar Srinagar in 2011.
