Kupwara, May29(KNB): The government employees, who had performed election duties during Muncipal and Panchayat elections allege general administration department for not releasing them one-month additional salary of  “election duty incentive” promised by the government.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Government ordered the release of one month additional salary for the employees who were deployed for conduct of Municipal and Panchayat polls this year but thousands of employees feel cheated as they are yet to get the salary.

One of the employee said,” The government not only promised but issued an order through general administration department to release one month additional salary soon after muncipal and panchayat elections will be over and now as lok sabha elections are also over but our promised salary is yet to be released, seems that we have been cheated over a fake promise.”

Another employee said,” In December last year, the government ordered the release of one month salary for the employees who were deployed for conduct of Municipal and Panchayat polls this year but it seems that we have been cheated, the employees who had not performed any election duty are getting additional salary and despite performing our duties, we are yet to get promised salary.”

While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara said, “We had released the additional salary of those employees who were enlisted but it appears that there are some employees who were not included in the list.

“We will be sending a revised list of those employees and request the commission to redress the said issue and release their promised salary as soon as possible.” He further said.(KNB)
