Srinagar, Apr 11: A complete shutdown is being observed Saturday across Kashmir to protest the proposed ‘composite townships’ for migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

All the shops and other commercial establishments are closed while public transport is off the roads.

However, skeletal movement of private vehicles has been reported from various areas.

Separatist leaders, including Yasin Malik, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have asked people to observe the strike to register their protest against the government move, which they said will produce “townships of hate”.

Reports from other districts of the valley said that shops are closed and government offices are witnessing very thin attendance.
