Srinagar 28 May(KNB): The annual general body meeting of J&K water sports Kayaking and Canoeing association was held at SKICC.
In a handout issued to KNB that, in the meeting various issues were discussed and Startigies for strengthening of water sports at grass root level was assured by all district heads at their respective districts.
All the necessary matter pertained to upcoming national championship at J&K and the national coaching camp was highlighted in the meeting. It was stressed upon to uplift the said sport being the highest medal winning game of J&K.
The meeting was perceded by Mr shafqat watali , the President of J&k water sports kayaking and canoeing association.
Besides president other dignitries like Mr Tufail Matoo(Vice President), Farooq ganderlbali(vice President) , Tariq Ghani vice president were also present in the meeting. Shafqat Watali president kayaking and canoeing association congratulated the players for shining in water sports and bringing fame and laurels to UT.He further appreciated the role played by the association and he assured players of all the possible support for the overall development and promotion of water sports in the UT .The vote of thanks was paid by Dr Burhan bazaz ,and the role of IKCA for promotion of water sports activities in J&K was glorified, furthermore he added that the association is working in full swing to hold the scheduled Canoe-Slalom national championship in the month of June.The meeting was concluded with the felcitation ceremony to the water sport players of J&K, who have recently brought Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in national championships.(KNB)
