J&K records three deaths, 106 Positive cases of Covid in a day

Srinagar, May 18(KNB): With another single day rise, 106 more persons tested positive for novel Caronavirus, while three deaths of positive patients were also recorded taking the total tally of positive cases to 1289 and death toll to 16.

As per the reports, among the 106 positive cases are from Anantnag , 12 from Srinagar, 12 from Kulgam , 02 from Bandipora , 01 each from Baramulla, Shopian, Budgam, Ganderbal , Pulwama, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtiws, 04 cases from Kupwara, 02 from Jammu and 02 from Poonch and 59 in Anantnag district

According to Officials, out of 750 samples tested at Microbiology Lab of CD Hospital, 83 came positive 55 from DPL Anantnag, 8 patients from SMHS Hospital, 3 ENT doctors of SMHS Hospital, 1 doctor of Government Dental College Srinagar, 1 doctor of SKIMS MCH Bemina, 2 from Anantnag, 02 from Srinagar travelers from Delhi, 1 Patient admitted in LD Hospital from Bandipora, 2 from Jammu, 01 each from ,Ganderbal, Kulgam, Handwara, Pulwama Doda, Banihal, Kishtwar and Kathua.

Moreover, five samples returned positive for the disease and include three from Kupwara and one each from Shopian and Srinagar.

Meanwhile, third death was reported in Kashmir valley as a 75-year-old Cancer patient woman breathed her last at Chest Diseases hospital this evening.

Earlier, two deaths were also recorded in the Kashmir valley, a 75-year-old man resident of Kokernag Anantnag and another 65-year-old covid-19 patient from Kulgam died at CD hospital taking the death toll to 16.

Pertinently, Five doctors and 55 armed police personnel including an SP ranked officer, were among at least 106 fresh cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir so far on Monday.

As of now, the number of Covid-19 patients has risen to 1289, with 665 active, 16 deaths and 609 recoveries so far.(KNB)
