Clashes between youth and CRPF is a very common thing in Kashmir but the clash in-between security personals is new to Kashmir.
Here is a report of clash between Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer who was humiliated and threatened by a CRPF men at Amira Kadal on Thursday.
As per the witnesses, a CID officer travelling toward his office near Sher-e-Kashmir Park in his white Maruti Alto vehicle bearing Registration No JK013 4448 could not move ahead as police and CRPF men had placed razor wires to stop the movement of people so as to abort the processions of Shiias on the 8th day of Muharram.
On reaching Amira Kadal, the CID officer revealed his identity by showing his photo identity card to the CRPF men and asked them to allow him passage by removing the razor wire barricade placed at the bridge, the witnesses said.
They said the on-duty CRPF men reacted saying, “We are not your servants and won’t remove the barricade for you.”
The CID officer responded them by saying that he had shown his photo identity card and they should allow him to move ahead, the witnesses said.
To cool the tempers between the CID officer and a CRPF personnel, a policeman on duty at the same spot tried to remove the barricade. While he was trying to remove the fence, the CID officer told the policeman that police should have been in control of things and not allowed CRPF men to call the shots, the witnesses said.
The CRPF men objected to the removing of fence and told the policeman not to dare remove the razor wire fence. The police man got afraid and left the spot, the witnesses said.
They said, by this time, the CID officer lost his cool and bursted on the CRPF men saying it was because of this attitude of theirs that Kashmir was caught in so many problems.
The witnesses said this got the CRPF men all the more infuriated and they reacted saying, ”Get your a## off your car and remove the barricade yourself or shut up, leave the spot or we will shove the barrel of the gun up you’re a##.”
Facing the ruthlessness of the CRPF men, the humiliated CID officer got down from the car, removed the barricade himself and headed toward his office, the witnesses said.
They said as the CID officer left the spot, the CRPF men laughed at him saying, ”Now he knows his place.”
