Says Govt fully responsible for agony and anguish of people
Srinagar, Mar 12 : Lashing out at State Govt for misleading people on the current chaotic situation on Jammu Srinagar National Highway, which has remained closed even on the fourth consecutive day today, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has expressed serious concern over the worst condition of National Highway resulting into great hardships to passengers stranded on the road from both sides.
He said Govt should have taken effective measures to ensure the movement of Passengers through additional flights from both Jammu and Kashmir, but it has not been able to do so, besides the sky touching air fare has put further burden on the people leaving them in great difficulty, which is very unfortunate.
I want to ask this Govt when it is not able to put a hold on air fare or arrange additional flights to ensure movement of passengers, what should then people expect from this Govt. The sky touching air fare has made the situation more complex for people, Govt is fully responsible for agony and anguish of the people, Mir said.
Additional flights from Jammu and Srinagar should have been ensured in order to ensure that passengers reach their destination, but one fails to understand what the State Govt is doing in this direction despite the worst condition of the road, as it was expected from the Govt that an alternate arrangement for the passengers would be made, which has not happened so far, he added.
Mir blamed the Govt for failing to ensure movement of passengers especially those who are stranded on the National Highway for last four days and castigated the Govt for being in deep slumber on this
count also, he said. (KNS)
