Srinagar, June 10(KNB): With two more militants killed in Shopian encounter, the total tally reached to five on Wednesday.
Earlier three militants were killed in an encounter that rages between militants and security forces after a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Sugoo Hendhama, the operation turned into an encounter soon after the militants opened fire on personnel of a search party, who retaliated.
The encounter ended with two more militants being killed taking the overall tolly to five.
However, identification and affiliation of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, a total of twelve militants have been killed all alone in Shopian district since 7th June including two commanders.
Meanwhile, Mobile Internet has been suspended in the Shopian district for precautionary measures.(KNB)
