Facilitate travel of Kashmiri families stuck in Jammu: BJP leader to Govt

Srinagar, April 16(KNB): Senior BJP leader and Block Devlopment Chairman Tral Avtar Singh has strongly demanded facilitating travel of stranded Kashmiri families from Jammu to Srinagar.
” Most of these families stay in Jammu during winter months for their elderly people who suffer from Chronic diseases of Asthma, diabetes, arthritis and hypertension etc. They come to Jammu with limited resources and stay in private rented single room accommodations for two months,” he said.
He added that they are in distress want to return back to Kashmir.
“The sudden onset of Corona pendemic and lockdown aggrivated their problems in Jammu. Jammu administration should facilitate their return to valley including those who own private vehicles in phased manners and after thorough screening and other precautions being followed related to COVID19,” he said.
Singh offered to provide free services of adequate information, travel history of these families to administration for their smooth and early return to valley.
Singh urged the administration to provide travel permits to them before the movement of darbar move vehicles and staff.
Singh said he has written to Lt. Governor G.C. Murmoo , Advisors to Lt.Gov. Farooq Khan & Baseer Ahmad Khan, Divsional Commisioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma and DC Jammu Sushma Chouhan regarding the issue.
He hoped the administration will adress the issue at earliest.
