Shopian, April 21(KNB) : An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday late evening.
According to reports, joint team of forces including 55 RR and Zainapora Police launched a Cordon and Search Operation in Melhoora village of Zainapora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district amid credible inputs.
The searches were going on when the hiding militants fired upon forces, which was retaliated, trigerring an encounter.
According to officials, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in.
The area continues to be under siege and exchange of gunfire is still going on, as per the last reports.(KNB)
