Employees in College allege clerk taking bribe to release salaries
Baramulla, June 08(KNB) : In violation of rules, a lab assistant working as a clerk in Degree College Tangmarg is not being relieved from his post despite a reliever already appointed at his place.
“Abdul Majeed, who is working as clerk in Degree College Tangmarg is not being relieved from his post for alleged support by college Principal despite the reliever has already joined the duties against the post of Lab Assistant,” Sources said.
Employees working in the college alleged Majeed for taking a Samsung phone of 13000 and a new jacket as a bribe from them to get their salaries released and this case of bribing goes on and on every month at the time of their salary withdrawal.
Pertinently, a transfer/adjustment order has been issued by Director Colleges Higher Education Department J&K vide order No 44/HE-FC of 2020 dated 19-05-2020 with an immediate effect of transfer of Ab Majeed to Pattan Degree college on serial No 25, however the employees alleged Principal for not relieving him and said that the principal of the college is hand in glove with the Lab Assistant.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau on phone, a lecturer said, “Our salaries are pending from many months as we are being harassed to get the duties released by Abdul Majeed. We raised funds to pay off money to Abdul Majeed and purchased a phone and a jacket for him. We need someone to pull us out of this mess”.
Another employee said, “Despite the transfer order being released by director colleges and reliever of lab assistant has also joined his duties but till date he is not transferred from the college.”
When contacted Abdul Rehman senior Lab Assistant who has joined duties on 27 May in the collage against the post of Lab Assistant said that he has not being given any charge yet, ” I joined Degree college Tangmarg on 27 May, as per rule the principal has to relieve him.There is only one post for lab assistant that I have joined, DDO has to think how his salary will be drawn,she could have adjusted him if she require him, if she would have refused to my joining than that was another point.
Employees further alleged that a graduate who has a good experience of a B.Ed in dealing with the admissions, has been asked to work as sweeper in the college by the principal and an 8th pass out who doesn’t know how to write is compelled to work in admission section otherwise he will be shunted out from the college.
Despite repeated calls from Kashmir News Bureau to Principal degree college Tangmarg, she didn’t respond for her comments.(KNB)
