Officials raids seizes samples to conduct tests
Srinagar, May 5: The officials of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation today raided Modern hotel at Bemina after a complaint was received that the said restaurant wala was selling spurious sweets due to which few children have fallen ill.
Accordingly, Officials concerned swung into action and seized bills and the sweets (Rass Malai) from the said shop.
An official, who was part of the raid, said they have seized some sweets and will conduct the tests.
“They were using substandard stuff in making cakes and other items. The creams used in cakes were expired. Nuts were also infected,” sources said.
However, the shopkeeper when contacted said there was nothing like that. “The children who ate the sweets are fit and fine. There is nothing to worry,” he said.
