for Ramban killings: PDP
JAMMU: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has blamed both Centre and State Government for the gruesome killing of four innocent people in the unprovoked firing on the unarmed citizens in Gool area of Ramban district. Party regretted that instead of taking action against those who were responsible for murdering innocent people, both Centre and State Government were brazenly trying to passing the buck on such tragedies to evade their responsibilities. Party cautioned that such attitude of both Centre and State Government would be proved disastrous for the State and it would increase alienation among masses.
Addressing a meeting, which was convened today to discuss prevailing situation in Jammu region following Gool incident, PDP leaders expressed their anguish over attitude of both Centre and State Government after the incident. They termed magisterial inquiry announced by the government after firing incident as mere eye-wash to shield those who were responsible for this massacre.
Questioning intention of the State Government to properly investigate the incident and to single out the real culprits, PDP leaders said that first of all FIR should be registered regarding this case and government should order Judicial probe. They said that announcing magisterial inquiry after every such incident has become a routine matter. “More 120 innocent youth were killed in 2010 summer unrest but not even a single person has been booked so far for such killings”, they said and regretted that during the last nearly five year the present regime has developed a culture to shield those who were responsible for committing atrocities on innocent civilians. They said that government has rather appreciated inhuman acts of such persons by giving them out of turn promotions and awards.
PDP leaders said that failure of the State Government to protect lives of innocent people has badly shattered faith of the common masses.
They regretted that the process of peace and reconciliation which was started during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been reversed by the present dispensation through its misdeeds and failures.
A two minutes silence was also observed in the meeting to pay tributes to those who lost their lives in firing incident. Meeting also expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
Rangil Singh, T S Bajwa, Balbir Singh, Fallail Singh, Rashid Malik, Surinder Choudhary, Hussain Ali Bafa, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, R K Bali, Satpal Charak, Amreek Singh Reen, Sukhvinder Singh, Surjeet Kour, Susheela Jamwal, Som Nath Dogra, Chatter Singh Saini, Bhushan Lal Dogra, Baldev Singh Pappa, Varinder Singh Sonu, Daljit Singh Dicky, Bikram Singh, Rafiq Malik, Puneet Jamwal, Chaman Angral, Anju Bhan, Badri Nath and others were present in the meeting.
