Tell us a bit about yourself especially your childhood days?
I was born and brought up in London. I had the most amazing childhood travelling all over the world for holidays and I loved my school. I was a geek who was a straight as a student. I was one of the best choir singers, good at acting, and captain of the netball team. Singing was a huge passion from a very young age.
How did the singing career started?
When I was 12years old I met the amazing music director Biddu. He asked me to sing backing vocals on a song called “Made in India”. Of course that song made history and after that every album that Biddu made I either sang on or wrote lyrics for. When I was still studying my girl band “Sansara” launched an album in India. Both songs “yeh dil sun raha hai” and “habibi” were huge hits and after that, even though the group split up, I knew my path.
Who is your role model?
My mum is my role model. Beautiful, intelligent, she is strong yet sensitive, business orientated yet family comes first. She is everything a woman should be.
Tell us a bit about some of your fascinating projects?
I have finally made my debut in playback singing and you also heard those fantastic songs last year and also a new solo pop song from me in last September. That song eventually rocked every dance floor. I’m fortunate that Vishal Dadlani has featured on it. He is just awesome. Also after my last film daddy cool I took a break from acting because I wasn’t satisfied with the work I was getting. Masha Allah things are changing and you will see me in movies soon.
Have you any modeling aspirations ?
I have never modeled or been a model so this question is irrelevant. I’m a singer, VJ and actor. That’s enough jobs.
What are your hobbies?
Travelling, watching movies, I love reading and can read a 500page book in one day if I like it. And I love good food. I love going to great restaurants to eat good food. I also enjoy dancing and salsa in particular.
What is mantra behind your charming face?
Wow! Thanks for the compliment! I just believe that whatever you are on the inside shows on the outside. Be positive and good at heart. That’s the most important thing. Surround yourself with positive, loving people. And appreciate each day. Apart from that eat healthy, no fried / fatty foods, exercise and enjoy looking good.
What is your message?
My message is thanks a lot for all the love and support always. More importantly spread love, positivity and find ways to make your country a better place. If not for us at least for our future generations. We owe them that much. Educate yourselves and those around you.
