Shortage of essentials supplies in valley markets




Srinagar, Jan 28 : The state administration on Saturday has issued fresh avalanche warning across Jammu and Kashmir for next 24-hours. People are advised not to venture in avalanche prone areas.
According to the statement that there is avalanche warning in higher areas of state and people are advised to keep clearing the snow deposition from roof tops of their houses/ bunkers to avoid damages.The ‘High Danger Avalanche Warning’ exists for avalanche prone slopes in; Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Budgam, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Riasi, Doda, Kishtwar and Kargil Districts of Jammu & Kashmir.Authorities on Saturday issued an avalanche and mudslides warning after rains and snow lashed the upper and lower reaches of the Chenab Valley.

The administration in Chenab valley has issued an avalanche warning and asked people not to venture out.

The areas of Baderwah like; Sharekhi, Behani, Aalan and Draman Nallah and In Bhalessa areas like; Kota Top, Kharangal Shaddal, Darie, Kaljugasar, Chanti Khawas, Chensar, Madhaan and Julu Signi prone to avalanches.

There has been heavy rainfall and snowfall in the upper reaches from last four days, and there possibility of avalanches and landslide in some vulnerable areas. The government as precautionary measure has issued an avalanche warning and advisory asking the people not to venture out unnecessarily.

District administrations have been directed to take all precautionary measures for the safety of public.

More than 20-people including 14 Army officers, died due to avalanche in Kashmir in recent days.
According to the traffic control room Srinagar, continuous snow and rainfall in Chenab Valley has triggered massive avalanches that hits; Khooni-Nallah on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, district Ramban.

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway which connects the valley with rest of country is closed for fifth connective days and traffic officials said that, the road will be open only after condition improves. They said that with fresh rain and snowfall there has been land sliding which halts the process of road clearing.

The people in valley are facing short of food and other essential supplies.




Resident told KNS that gas dealers are not selling gas, alleging that of black-marketing.
Meanwhile news reaches here that most areas of North and Central Kashmir are facing shortage of gas, food items.
