Army organises reach out programme in Kupwara distributed Study material,masks,Ration and Sanitizers|Kashmir News Bureau|

Baramulla 29 April:The Army has organised a reach out programme to reach out to people in remote and rural areas of Kupwara Jammu and Kashmir and educate and assist them in the fight against coronavirus.

As part of the programme distribution of Solar lights  pamphlets, masks, sanitizers and also ration is being done besides installation of hand wash facilities.

Chakkigam Battalion of 47 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Lolab Sector and Kilo Force organised a Reachout Programme for villagers & students of the remote village Woghbal which is a far flung village in the Kupwara District.

Army’s 47 RR distributed masks and sanitisers to the villagers to help them protect themselves against the spread of COVID-19 . 25 poor families of the village were also provided with Relief Kits and Solar lights to ignite a ray of hope in their lives during this pandemic.

Medical team of 47 Rashtriya Rifles organised  was also present for the Programme and they demonstrated various preventive measures to be taken for prevention of COVID-19 including washing of hands and hygeine protocols.

It is pertinent to mention that at the remote village of Woghbal, where even mobile network is not available, Chakkigam Batallion of 47 Rashtriya Rifles reached out to the students and distributed study material to them in order to facilitate them in keeping in touch with their studies in the Lockdown.

Army officers of 47 Rashtriya Rifles appealed to people to adhere to the Lockdown and maintain Social Diatancing in the village and take all the precautions thereby contributing to the country’s fight against COVID-19. They also assured the villagers that the Battalion is with the Kashmiri people during this tough time.

The effort of the 47 RR to reachout to the villagers was highly appreciated while talking to Kashmir News Bureau by the Sarpanch and Ward Members and they thanked the Army for this concern and support to the villagers.(KNB)
