Posters asking non-locals to vacate Kashmir are fake: IGP

Asks people to don’t pay heed over rumours




Srinagar, Oct 17 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that the posters appeared in South Kashmir areas asking the non-locals to vacate Kashmir before Oct 25 are fake.The Police reaction came a day after the posters appeared in South Kashmir areas where in some persons claiming themselves as militants asked the non-locals to vacate Kashmir before Oct 25.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Range, Munir Ahmad Khan told KNS that the rumours are being spread to create fear psychosis among the people.

“Some anti-social elements are trying to create fear psychosis among the people. We have investigated the matter and the posters appeared in South Kashmir areas are fake. People are being requested to don’t pay heed over such kind of rumours,” he said.

IGP further informed KNS that such posters are aimed to halt the developmental works in Kashmir.




“At present, various developmental works and harvesting, sorting and transportation of fruits is going on, which are being carried out by the non-local labourers. These posters are aimed to halt the ongoing works, which would lead to the economic losses,” he said. (KNS)
