2 Crpf Personnel, 1 SPO Killed in militant attack in Baramulla

 Baramulla 17 August(KNB): A Jammu and Kashmir Special police officer (SPO) and two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed on Monday as militants attacked a joint patrol party in Keeri area of Baramulla district.

Reports said militants opened fire at the joint naka party of CRPF and J&K Police at Kreeri area in Baramulla district. The area was immediately cordoned off and efforts were underway to nab the militants.

One Special Police Officer (SPO) of the police lost his life at the incident site while two CRPF soldiers were injured in the attack. The two CRPF personnel later succumbed to their injuries: Vijay Kumar, Inspector-General said.

The SPO has been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad, while two CRPF personnel killed in attack have been identified as Driver Khursheed Ahmad and Lokas Sharma. (KNB)
