Srinagar, Aug 12 : Two policemen suatained bullet wounds soon after forces launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday morning.
A joint team of army’s 13 RR and SOG cordoned off Wahabpora area of Hajin following inputs about the presence of some militants, a police official told news agency GNS.
He said that as the joint team laid the seige in the village, some militants fired upon the search party from the outer cordoned area resulting in injuries to two policemen.
Both the injured have been hospitalised, he said.
“Whole area has been now cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to track down the militant group”, he said.
