The couple had travelled through Nepal border where their travel documents were confiscated.
However, Iram’s father has taken ill and is not bed-ridden.

Longing to see her father, Iram wants to travel to Pakistan, but she has no travel documents.
“Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba assured me that she will take up the matter with Home Minister (Rajnath Singh) here on Friday,” Iram said.

Iram along with her husband and little daughter, Falak, met the chief minister at her office in Civil Secretariat here.

“I am hopeful that I will get permission to see my father who is on deathbed.”

The issue of the woman was raised by ruling PDP MLA from Wachi, Advocate Aijaz Mir, recently in Legislative Assembly.

Mir had facilitated the appointment of the woman and her family with the chief minister.
“It is a human issue. A daughter wants to meet her father,” Mir told KNS.

“I hope the daughter meets her father soon. I am sure that the chief minister will taken up the issue with the Home Ministry to facilitate Iram’s meeting with her father in Pakistan. She knows the feeling of a daughter who longs to meet her father,” Mir said.

Iram has submitted an application to the chief minister and expressed he wish to become an Indian citizen and that she be granted an Indian passport.

“I request your goodself that on humanitarian grounds passport or simple permission/pass be furnished to me facilitate my journey upto Rawalpindi for last glimpse of my beloved father,” she said.

“Being a lone daughter of my father, his eyes are waiting to see me for one last time. An entry permission via LOC will solve my problems,” Iram added. (KNS)
