Two more covid19 positive patient dies in J&K, taking toll to 71

Srinagar, June 18 (KNB): With two more deaths due to Covid -19, the death toll mounted to 71 in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

As per the reports, an 80-year-old man resident of district Srinagar and a 65-year-old from Shopian succumbed to the virus at SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

The 89 year old man from Srinagar’s Nawa Bazar area was admitted on June 16 at SMHS and died the next day, he was having Hypertension and bilateral pneumonia besides other underlying ailments.

Regarding Shopian patient, the 65-year-old was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday with acute breathlessness and became another victim of Covid-19.

As of now, 71 people have died due to the Coronavirus in J&K, nine from Jammu and 62 from the Kashmir valley, however, 5406 cases have been confirmed with 2428 cases active, 2914 recoveries and 71 deaths so far.(KNB)
