Two CRPF men injured in Anantnag militant attack

Srinagar, Nov 2 : Two paramilitary CRPF men were injured after militants attacked their vehicle at Lazbal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.




Incharge spokesperson of CRPF Kashmir Division Col Suresh told news agency GNS that a group of militants at around 8:45 am opened fire upon a CRPF bus of 96 bn resulting in bullet injuries to two persons and three other personnel suffered minor injuries while taking refuge amid milee that followed the attack.
Soon after the attack, the spokesman said that the area has been cordoned off and searches are underway to nab the attackers.
Meanwhile in a statement to GNS, Lashkar-e-Toiba militant organization claimed responsibility of the attack.
“Cadres of Lashkar-e Toiba carried out the successfully attack on Army convoy in Anantnag as a result of which forces suffered heavy damage”, spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi said.
He said adding, the cadres have reached the safe destination after carried out the attack.(GNS)
