Two civilians killed, many injured in Tral grenade attack during R&B Minister’s visit

Srinagar, September 21: At least two civilians were killed and many others were injured when unidentified persons hurled a grenade towards police at Tral Town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today during R&B Minister Naeem Akhtar’s visit.




Local sources told news agency GNS that the grenade was lobbed in the main town of Tral when Akhtar was there to inaugurate a project today. They said that amid tight security, the grenade was lobbed by unknown persons towards police which exploded with a huge bang and resulted in injuries to both cops as well as civilians.

Reports said that two civilians succumbed to their injuries while other injured including policemen are undergoing treatment. The grenade attack crated chaos and panic in Tral while additional contingents of Government forces rushed to area and launched searches.(GNS)
