Srinagar Witnesses The Coldest Night Of The Season

Day before summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed the coldest night of its winter season, the minimum temperature increased at most places in Kashmir on Thursday providing some relief to the residents, officials said.

However, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 0.6 degree Celsius, an increase of over three degrees from the previous night’s minus 3.7 degrees Celsius, an official of the MeT Department said.

The mercury in Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir Valley, went up from the previous night’s low of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius to settle at a low of minus 1.3 degree Celsius, the official said.

According to MeT Department the weather would remain mainly dry over the next few days. However, it said, the sky would be partly cloudy.
