SMC deputes four teams at Srinagar Airport for sanitisation,sterilization

 

Srinagar 25 May (KNB): Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Monday deputed four teams at Srinagar airport for sanitisation of SRTC and sterilisation of SRTC vehicles.
In a statement issued to media, Srinagar Mayor Junaid Matoo along with Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali visited Srinagar airport and took stock of the arrangements being made by the Government that has constituted team headed by Principal Secretary to Housing and Urban development department Deeraj Gupta,Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P.K Pole , Secretary Tourism Zubair Ahmed at Srinagar International airport.

While interacting with the employees mandated for screening , Junaid Matoo directed SMC employees to work in tandem with health department regarding testing of passengers and take every possible step and adopt all measures to ensure sanitisation while adhering to protocol at Srinagar airport.

“SMC have constituted four teams for sanitation, Sterilisation and smooth functioning of decontamination tunnels, ” Commissioner SMC said.

“Team A comprising of eight officials assigned with the task of sterilisation shall ensure sterilisation of each and every place and the baggage carried by the passengers on Airport, while as team B comprising of six officials have been assigned task of sanitation and for that purpose 20 waste bins have been provided for collection of waste from Srinagar Airport which shall be disposed off as per the protocol of solid waste management rules,” he added.

Similarly the task of smooth functioning of decontamination tunnel installed by SMC has been given to team C headed by five officials and team D shall sterilise all SRTC vehicles at TRC and will report activities of sterilisation
of the buses to Nodal officer Airport Shahid Asraar,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Director airport authority has requested SMC for installation of one more decontamination tunnel at Srinagar airport that SMC will install in a few days.(KNB)
